Wish You Were Here: San Jose del Cabo

Baja Sur—my first time there on our all-girl surf adventure to celebrate a friend’s birthday. It was so much fun! Just a 2.5 hour flight from LAX; we landed, took the shuttle to the hotel, slipped into our bikinis and went straight out into the 83 degree water to catch some 2-3′ waves. Small but a lot bigger than the flat, flat flat conditions we left in So. Cal. As synchronicity would have it, I saw a familiar face in the line-up; we met for the second time with the kind and generous surfer Steve who lives and does lessons and adventures around Cabo through Costa Azul surf shop. They also have weekly board rentals. The waves increased in size for two days, then we had torrential rain but still had a blast! Now I can check that off my bucket list. Although our trip was too short to explore all the breaks. I’ll be back!

Bethany Hamilton Gets Married!

Since two of our loves are surfing and celebrity gossip, we were thrilled to read the People article about Bethany Hamilton’s marriage to Adam Dirks. She looks absolutely stunning in a Lazaro dress (and her new hubby ain’t bad either).  Congrats, Bethany!
